Bodybuilding.com is an American online retailer based in Boise, Idaho, specializing in dietary supplements, sports supplements, and bodybuilding supplements. It is one of the Internet’s most-trafficked health and fitness websites, with over 1 million daily visitors. Their mission is to help visitors achieve their fitness, health, and appearance goals through information, motivation, and supplementation.
Earlier this year we sat down with BodyBuilding.com’s Finance and IT Administrator Amy Brown to learn how a Dynamics GP solution from Admiral Consulting Group has changed the way her company operates.
Dynamics GP Improves Reporting and Reconciling Processes
When BodyBuilding.com selected Admiral Consulting Group as their GP Partner, one of their biggest challenges was getting reporting around inventory. The company was operating on an older version of Microsoft Dynamics GP and still using the Historical Stock Status Report for reconciling inventory which was outdated and not using true FIFO costs. Another challenge was reviewing and making changes to complex integrations from a homegrown warehouse management system and eCommerce System ATG to Microsoft GP. Amy said, “This project really opened up the door to where we had some gaps in our support, reporting and reconciling processes.” She continued, “Personally, we seemed to have fire drills on a regular basis and I was working 7 days a week. Now we have less fire drills and I am back to working normal hours.”

She continues, “Dynamics has given us the ability to manage Accounts Payable by being able to match Purchase Order to Receipt to Invoice. It is the tool we use to track inventory and handle all the processing of the necessary transactions for our monthly close. It was very scalable over the past 8 years as we went from a $129 Million dollar company to a $464 Million dollar company. ”
